Why We Started
As Americans we know how difficult it is to maintain our diets with the rampant exposure of unhealthy meal options which puts us at risk for a multitude of health issues related to what we consume. Most fresh items available come at startlingly high premiums and limited availability (depending on your area). Not to mention, people can’t be absolutely sure that what they are buying is what it is advertised to be. We want to take the guesswork out of the situation and see to it that people are getting exactly what they should be getting: purely wholesome, delicious, and impeccably local food.
For years, we have seen the steady rise of chemically engineered and genetically modified food in our local grocery stores. Only about 1 in 1400 Texas farms are certified organic, a far lower percentage than any other state. (NCAT-Aug 2016) This staggering statistic means that most are using harmful pesticides and chemicals which end up on our kitchen tables and in our bodies. We want to educate the public about these damaging practices so that they can take matters into their own hands; embracing all the benefits of growing their own food.
